An icon system with 30 unique app icons to be used in an HRMS product.

Brief
The client's ask was to design app icons for 30 apps such that they look distinct enough to be recognised as separate app icons but similar enough to fit into one system in their software.
Direction
The screens used for the HRMS product were primarily light colours with very light grey and blue tints. So, I created a wide colour palette using colours that are widely accepted in tech environments to make the icons stand out.
Process
I first created a grid that would accommodate symmetrical and asymmetrical forms without making the icons look inconsistent. For each icon, I first explored concepts to represent the app and then created outlined versions of the concepts that were the most relevant.

Final Icons
The icons were refined to balance colours across the set. I finessed further them by adding gradients, light and shadows. This created depth and made the icons look a lot more professional and relevant amongst the market competitors.
