VISUAL DIRECTIONS, BASE DIAGRAMS & SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

(PROJECT OF) STUDIO SUBU
Brief
PATH Global Health approached Studio Subu with the brief to design a report on telemedicine with flexibility in the design language. This report was written under PATH and Digital Square, so the colours had to be used from both of these brands. The report also included complex diagrams and tables that were to be simplified for ease of understanding.
Approach & Process
Although PATH has specific brand guidelines, we had the flexibility with photo treatments, layouts and diagrams. The process involved first exploring visual directions for different page types, then defining a grid, experimenting with photo treatments, sketching and creating diagrams and finally putting the report together.
Concept
'Telemedicine' is the use of electric technology to provide remote healthcare. The visual explorations were geometric, technical and scientific. This was done through photo treatments like cell structures, grid backgrounds calling out connectivity and other graphics explorations that signalled a tech-oriented style of work. The grid also was designed for a different reading experience than usual.

Asymmetrical Grid & Diagrams
After exploring even-numbered grids, I experimented with asymmetrical grid layouts. These created an interesting layout where we had three levels of hierarchy in a sub-topic—title, introduction/highlight and explanation text. This style of a grid was taken ahead in the final report. The report also featured a number of diagrams and tables to support the data it quoted. In order to create an interesting and easy reading experience, we interpreted these diagrams in different ways.

Social Media
Towards the end of this project, we also designed posts for PATH's social media which they would use to launch the report. The content and intention for these posts was to give bite-sized information related to the topics mentioned in the report and then lead the audience to the report itself. The visual language of these posts was based on the final report.

The project showcased here was completed under the guidance of Studio Subu. I do not claim ownership of any content and images used and share credit with the team.
